SPRINGFIELD, Ohio, Feb. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Champion Company, an industry-leading producer of engine stands and containers, announced it will design and manufacture items under license from a major turbomachinery manufacturer for all of its commercial aerospace and aero-derivative engine platforms.
Champion's experience developing and manufacturing multiple stands for the newest technology engines, such as those used on Boeing 787 and 747-8 aircraft, made way for the licensure. "This agreement allows us to further develop our product lines and secure Champion's recognition as one of the top ground service equipment suppliers worldwide," said Vice President and General Manager Todd DeVore. "Building on our established relationship with this major OEM, we have engineered and manufactured containers and stands for aerospace and aero-derivative engines that consistently meet their specific and rigorous requirements."
Champion began designing engine stands and specialty containers more than 60 years ago. "This is just one step in Champion's effort of refocusing on commercial and power generation projects, as well as government and military markets," DeVore said. "We have been able to maintain our Special Products Division's legacy it established since we first designed hermetically sealed shipping containers for the United States government in World War II."
Champion is currently developing a groundbreaking engine stand that promises to increase usability and heighten personnel safety. "Our design and engineering teams have been working diligently to uncover opportunities for improvements in existing platforms to provide the end user with improved functionality for ease of use and transport. We will make this exciting announcement at our press conference on April 8, 2014, during the MRO Americas conference," DeVore said.
