Chayes to Lead Ketchum's Stromberg Consulting
NEW YORK, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Ketchum, a leading global public
relations firm, announced the appointment of Michael M. Chayes, an expert in
organizational change, as chief executive officer of its change-management
unit, Stromberg Consulting. Dr. Chayes succeeds CEO and founder Gary
Stromberg, who left in 2004 after more than 20 years in the position to pursue
new ventures.
"Michael brings a wealth of consulting expertise in change management that
will ensure Stromberg maintains its role as a leading change-management
consultancy," said Raymond L. Kotcher, senior partner and CEO of Ketchum. "He
will play a key role in further integrating Stromberg's offerings with
Ketchum's expertise to help clients achieve the full potential of their brand
through public relations and internal change."
"This is a tremendous opportunity to expand what Stromberg brings to
Ketchum and to work together to create new and innovative client programs,"
said Dr. Chayes. "I'm excited to lead this practice and build on its already
strong record of performance."
Since 2002, Dr. Chayes has served as managing principal of Sustained
Leadership LLC, of Scarsdale, N.Y., where he provided executive consulting and
coaching on large-scale organizational change and organizational- and
personal-performance improvement, among other services. During his tenure
there, he assisted a $4 billion-a-year energy products-and-services company in
the development and introduction of its customer-focused business model.
Previously, Dr. Chayes was lead partner, Organization and Change Strategy,
Eastern United States, for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, New York, where he
created and led a 45-person organizational consulting practice. Among other
things, he designed and implemented diverse organizational changes for Fortune
500 clients and created the Organization Performance Model for the global PWC
toolkit.
From 1988 to 1995, Dr. Chayes served as a senior director of Delta
Consulting Group in New York, conducting large-scale organizational change
projects for senior Fortune 100 leaders. His responsibilities included
coaching senior and executive leaders on strategy execution, change
management, team leadership and personal effectiveness.
Dr. Chayes holds a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and psychology
from The City College of New York, and a master of science and a doctorate in
psychology from the Derner Institute at Adelphi University in Garden City,
N.Y.
