Cheers Magazine Announces Winners of the 2008 Cheers Awards for Beverage Excellence

    NORWALK, Conn., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Cheers, the beverage magazine
 for full-service bars and restaurants, today announces the winners of its
 2008 "Cheers Awards for Beverage Excellence." The Cheers Awards for
 Beverage Excellence are the adult beverage industry's highest honor for
 beverage program operators in chain and multi-concept restaurant companies.
 The awards will be presented by Cheers Editor Donna Hood Crecca and Cheers
 Publisher Charles Forman on January 22, 2008, during the Cheers Beverage
 Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Miami, Fla.
     "Our 2008 Cheers Awards for Beverage Excellence program received a
 record number of entries," says Forman. "We're delighted to be able to
 honor those establishments that represent the best in the on-premise adult
 beverage business."
     The 2008 Cheers Awards for Beverage Excellence fall into 12 categories.
 Each award is given based on the innovation and creativity of an
 establishment's beverage program and its impact on the sales and
 profitability of the establishment. Additional consideration is given to
 the level of operator support of the program, such as a high level of staff
 training or unique marketing efforts.
     The following winners were selected by a panel of judges comprised of
 leading beverage professionals and members of the Cheers Beverage
 Conference team:

     Best Chain Hotel Beverage Program - Hilton Hotels
     Best Chain Wine Program - Carrabba's
     Best Chain Beer Program - Buffalo Wild Wings
     Best Chain Spirits Program - Bennigan's
     Best Beverage Merchandising Program - Hard Rock Cafe
     Best Beverage Menu - Outback Steakhouse
     Best Signature Drink - Walt Disney World Resorts
     Best Drink Program - Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
     Best Adult Non-Alcohol Drink Program - ESPN Zone
     Best Responsible Alcohol Service Training Program - Applebee's
     Best Multi-Concept Beverage Program - Back Bay Restaurant Group
     Award winners will be honored throughout the 2008 Cheers Beverage
 Conference ( and featured in the January/February
 issue of Cheers magazine.
