(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20050805/PHF009 ) The Gureghians, whose company provides financial and facilities management support to Chester Community Charter School, offered to assist Ms. Cleveland with a $2,500 scholarship when they saw her featured in a recent national story on Chester's schools on ABC-TV's "Nightline." While Chester Community Charter School focuses on K-8 education and is not involved with high school education in the City, the Gureghians believe that their school and other schools in the Chester-Upland School District must, together, share the responsibility for giving every reasonable opportunity to the young people in the City who want to pursue educational advancement. Ms. Cleveland plans to major in journalism at Temple University. In addition to the scholarship to Ms. Cleveland, Mr. and Mrs. Gureghian, under their Gureghian Family Scholarship, have contributed $35,500 over the past three years - for tuition, books and other expenses - to Widener University and to Delaware County Community College. Virtually all of the Gureghian Scholarship funds are designated for current or former Chester residents.
