Guests can get the facts (and great eats) at Shedd Aquarium's second
annual Right Bite seafood celebration. Right Bite takes place June 8 to 10 in
conjunction with Oceans Day (June 8). During daily events, guests can join in
family-oriented activities, from taking the Right Bite menu challenge to
discovering salmon's important role in the Pacific Northwest ecosystem, and
from storytelling for the kids to movies for the adults. Guests will also
receive a free wallet-sized Shedd Right Bite seafood guide created in
partnership with the National Audubon Society's Living Oceans project.
Shedd's chefs will even serve a Right Bite catch of the day that passes
the Right Bite criteria: It comes from abundant, well-managed stocks, was
caught in a manner that doesn't harm other animals or habitat, and tastes
great. Seafood for Right Bite will be provided by Whole Foods Market. Right
Bite events take place daily, Friday, June 8, through Sunday, June 10, from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and are free with Aquarium admission.
To kick-off the Right Bite celebration, Shedd is offering an exclusive
meet and greet with National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore, who will
return to the aquarium on Thursday, June 7th. Sartore, who dazzled his
audience at last fall's "Treasures and Terrors" Amazon lecture series, will
present stunning photos and the compelling story of the Pacific Northwest's
 mighty salmon.
This special event will begin at 6 p.m. with a private reception in the
Bubble Net including cocktails and a buffet. The presentation will begin at
7 p.m. Tickets are $45 for adults ($40 for Shedd members) and $35 for youths

mammal pavilion in the world -- the Oceanarium. Visitors will learn how
Shedd's animals are trained, catch a sneak peek at where the trainers prepare
food, and find out more about Shedd's research and conservation programs.
