Celebrating National Fire-Safety Prevention Month with Family-Friendly Fun

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Western-region insurer CIG (Capital Insurance Group) -- www.ciginsurance.com -- announced today that the company will be an official sponsor of Safe Halloween 2009, Bakersfield's premier trick-or-treat experience. Taking place on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31, from 5:30 pm to 9 pm, the event will feature 30 trick-or-treat stations, a costume contests with prizes, a school-type carnival and concessions on the historic Kern County Museum grounds in a family style environment.

Children ages 3-12 will safely trick-or-treat for terrific goodies, using a specially designed event bag available with a ticket purchase. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the costume contest, and get the chance to win fun prizes, with judging based on originality, uniqueness, and style of costume. Tickets to the event are $6.00 for museum members and $8.00 for non-members and are on sale now at Kern Schools Federal Credit Union branches, the Kern County Museum, Vallitix branches or online. October is National Fire-Safety Prevention Month and CIG's focus at Safe Halloween 2009 is to encourage families to proactively take fire-prevention steps at home, and to plan and rehearse what to do in the event of a fire. Each child will leave CIG's booth, located next to The French Bakery, with a trick-or-treat bag with a safety whistle and a fire escape plan flyer -- all reinforcing fire safety and the need to plan and practice emergency evacuations. A prize drawing for Entertainment booklets will take place every 30 minutes at the CIG booth, along with a grand prize drawing each evening for a chance to win a family emergency survival kit.

Hosting the event is Eagle West Premier Insurance Agency, Bakersfield - www.eaglewestpremier.com. They will be available to answer questions pertaining to fire safety and preparedness and highlight CIG's "Think Twice Coverage(TM)" for homeowners.
