ClassBook.com Named One Of The Fastest Growing Companies In America by Inc. Magazine For Fifth Consecutive Year
Company is One of Only 700 Companies on The List To Make Prestigious "Honor Roll"
CASTLETON, N.Y., Aug. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- ClassBook.com, one of the nation's leading digital textbook distributors, achieves a major milestone being named one of the fastest growing companies in America by Inc. magazine since 2007.
For the fifth consecutive year in a row the company has once again made the 500/5000 list, which includes the fastest private growing companies in the nation. CEO Tony Pfister said, "This is an honor and I am incredibly proud of our team who is focused on our customers. I am humbled to be included on a list that truly includes the best and the brightest in business." The company is one of only 700 on the list to make "honor roll" being listed for five years. Seven million companies qualified for the list, placing ClassBook.com at .007 percent of companies in the entire nation for growth.
The company was ranked 3061. To honor those who have achieved this accomplishment Inc. hosts a conference and awards ceremony in October. Inc. magazine is a publication focused solely on growing companies, such as ClassBook.com.
Pfister, who is 32 years old, continues to both grow his company and revolutionize the K-12 market by both developing partnerships with companies that specialize in interactive learning content and by growing their client base of schools.
Recently, ClassBook.com partnered with Inkling, a platform for creating, distributing and consuming media-rich, interactive content which adds them to a list of expanding partnership in the digital space. CEO Tony Pfister is currently working on forming additional partnerships to bring greater value to the company. Pfister said, " If schools are unhappy with their digital learning solution, they are likely go back to printed textbooks. We want to provide schools with successful outcomes, so that when students graduate from high school they continue ask for that same experience in college and beyond."
The company launched in the early 1990's as a textbook retailer and became one of the first online book vendors in 1997. Only a few years later ClassBook.com began providing an e-commerce solution which streamlined the buying process for families and allowed the company to provide several options in book adoption.
Today, ClassBook.com creates a customizable, personalized online bookstore solution for each school. They have a large inventory of books and personally maintain relationships with thousands of publishers. Pfister said, "We continue to grow by strategically partnering with companies who are leaders in the industry and who can help us better meet the needs of our clients."
Pfister and his team continue to add new schools to their growing list of clients. Administrators, who are currently using ClassBook.com, are extremely pleased with the results being delivered. Brooks School, located in North Andover, is a school that has been significantly changed. Academic Dean Lance Latham said, "All the benefits we had hoped for came true the first year. We went from deficit to profit sharing. We eliminated the bureaucracy of department chairs dealing with the bookstore, who dealt with the publisher, who then dealt with me. Now the department chairs input the orders themselves. We have eliminated the middle person, which has given us much more control."
Pfister attributes the current success of the company to the relationships they have with schools like Brooks and other partnering organizations. According to Pfister, the company has a 98 percent retention rate of clients. He said, "On average clients stay with us for seven to 10 years. We provide them a streamlined solution that makes the process efficient and cost effective. It allows our clients to become leaders in the education industry."
There are many plans on the horizon for ClassBook.com and Pfister said that most of the emphasis will be on going digital. " We want to offer up the most open platform with the greatest amount of digital information available. We are hopeful our company will be 50 percent digital by 2015."
