NEW YORK, Nov. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The fifth Clean Energy Connections event, 'Biomimicry in the Big City: Can Nature Inspire Cleantech Solutions?' will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, 44 Charlton Street (at Varick Street), New York, NY 10014.
Solar One and the New York City Accelerator for a Clean and Renewable Economy (NYC ACRE) at Polytechnic Institute of New York University present the fifth event of their discussion series and online forum, Clean Energy Connections. Developed in collaboration with Terrapin Bright Green, Biomimicry in the Big City will feature industry experts discussing how entrepreneurs and designers are utilizing the principles of biomimicry to change the way companies design, build and operate clean energy technologies. This will be an exploration not only of biomimetic design in the cleantech space, but also of the benefits and challenges of this collaborative model. Acknowledged thought leaders in the industry will tackle this topic, including Mark Dorfman from the Biomimicry Guild; Chris Garvin from Terrapin Bright Green; Sam Cochran from SMIT; and Pat Sapinsley from Good Energies. Miriam Pye from NYSERDA will deliver opening remarks.
Clean Energy Connections brings together professionals, policymakers, investors and academia to explore major topics shaping New York City's blossoming cleantech industry, and it provides an expert forum to share best practices and new inspirations.
