PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- CLONTECH Laboratories, Inc.
filed suit December 23, 1998 in the U.S. District Court in Wilmington,
Delaware, against Life Technologies, Inc., claiming Life Technologies has
engaged in deceptive trade practices.
In its complaint, CLONTECH alleges that Life Technologies knowingly and
willfully marketed its SuperScript and SuperScript II products with a false
patent marking and misrepresented to its customers that its goods and services
have characteristics which they do not possess.
CLONTECH also asserts that Life Technologies has knowingly and willfully
misrepresented to CLONTECH's customers that CLONTECH currently performs
contract services using the SuperScript products.
CLONTECH is a biotech company which provides gene discovery tools to the
