SAN JOSE, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- SDExpo Booth #907 -- CodeWeavers, Inc.,
the leading Windows-to-Linux software developer and consultancy, played a
critical part in the development of Buhl Data Services' Tax2001 Software for
Linux by supplying important mentoring and technical services, officials from
both companies said today.
Tax2001 is Buhl's popular personal tax preparation software for German
taxpayers. CodeWeavers and Buhl Data Services spent less than ten weeks
porting the software from Windows to Linux. Tax2001 began shipping in
February of this year, and is available through retailers or online directly
"Buhl is pleased to acknowledge the vital services provided by CodeWeavers
in bringing Tax2001 to the Linux market. By lending its ongoing expertise and
support, CodeWeavers has helped make Tax2001 a robust and powerful tool for
personal tax preparation here in Germany," said Thorsten Vogel, (CTO) of Buhl
"CodeWeavers is proud to have played such an instrumental role in the
development of Tax2001," said Jeremy White, president of CodeWeavers.
"Tax2001 is a major advancement in the growth and maturation of Linux desktop
software. We look forward to helping quality software companies like Buhl, as
well as other world-class corporations, make the technological leap from
Windows to Linux."
Throughout the project, a team of CodeWeavers programmers mentored and
assisted Buhl developers as they ported the software to the Linux operating
system. Tax2001 for Linux employs a subset of the features found in the
Windows version, and is designed to remain compatible with future versions.
