"These two young women have demonstrated significant academic achievement and leadership in their schools and communities. We're proud to be able to help them realize their dream of a college education through these scholarships and we look forward to their continued success in college and beyond," said Kathy Edmons, president, Women of Teradata.
This is the first year the Women of Teradata organization has funded the exclusive college scholarships for students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering or math. The winners were selected from a pool of qualified applicants, who must be graduating high school women in a community where Teradata has an office. Academic achievement, community involvement and financial need are strongly considered in the competitive selection process.

- Sandra Ferrer, Escondido High School, Escondido, CA. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the California Scholarship Federation and Compass honor roll for high academic achievement, and the Ballet Folklorico dance troupe.
