Stater Bros. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jack H. Brown stated:
"Paul Green has been my personal 'Hero' since I first was
introduced to him as the incoming Base Commander at Norton Air
Force Base in the early '70s, and he should be a 'Hero' to all.
Raised in an orphans' home, he answered America's call when he
was drafted by the Army Quartermaster Corps in 1943 during the
worst of World War II.
"He would not let his 'Dream' of flying be denied to him. So
he applied to the flying school at the Tuskegee Institute, and
the rest is American History, as the Tuskegee Airmen wrote
their own chapter in American Military History.
"Angel and Paul have been married for 61 years. With her at
his side, Paul was destined to be one of America's most
decorated flyers and one of the last Tuskegee Airmen. I solute
Colonel Paul Green, The Unforgettable Citizen of the Year!"
