DALLAS, July 25, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- In less than one week, the hand-picked founders of seven international startups will arrive in Dallas, TX, to learn from the best of the American startup world. As participants of GlobeStart, this highly exclusive group will experience mentorship, networking and access to investors. The first leg of their 3-week GlobeStart excursion begins in Dallas, and ventures to San Francisco and wraps up in Las Vegas. This will be GlobeStart's second U.S. program that Tech Wildcatters, a Forbes Top 10 seed accelerator, has hosted.
Formerly known as Global Accelerator Exchange (GAE), GlobeStart (#GlobeStart) is organized by Tech Wildcatters, and sponsored by American Airlines & Softlayer. This program offers startups from around the world, the opportunity to visit some of the best, most innovative entrepreneurial hubs, the chance to expand their understanding of our technology markets, and immerse themselves into our startup culture. The outcome of this experience is lasting bonds with fellow founders, and meaningful connections with mentors and investors along the way. Watch a message from last year's participants.
In Dallas, the companies will be meeting with Tech Wildcatters mentors, working on making pitches U.S. ready, mingling with founders, and presenting in GlobeStart Demo Hour at the DEC in collaboration with Launch DFW. In San Francisco, they will be doing office visits and co-working, and the trip will end in Las Vegas for Tech Cocktail Week and SXSW V2V.
This summer's GlobeStart partipants are Pick1, Avionerd, Inaika, Cupenya, 20lin.es, Smappo and Crowdsourced Testing Co.. Most of these startups have gone through the best accelerators and incubators outside of the U.S., including: Startup Chile, H-Farm, RockStart, and Wayra. They are coming from Italy, Chile, Argentina, Poland, and Canada. For more information about the programs and the startups, click here.
The origins of this program take root in the global vision of Tech Wildcatters founder, Gabriella Draney. "We aim to catalyze innovation and growth by providing founders with access to the best entrepreneurship ecosystems and fostering a strong appreciation for the cultural and economic ties that bind us globally." The GlobeStart vision and programs will be expanding in 2014.
