Comprehensive IEC 61508 Training Now Available in the U.S.
Functional Safety Course Includes Certification, Free Analysis Software
BOSTON, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- kVA, in collaboration with training partner TUV-Nord, will host a four-day training session on the topic of Functional Safety and the IEC 61508 Standard. The training will be held in downton Boston, MA, from June 3-6, 2013. This comprehensive training event includes optional certification for attendees as a Functional Safety Certified Engineer - Development (FSCED), a designation conferred by kVA's training partner TUV-Nord. To achieve the FSCED certification, participants must pass an optional half-day examination held on the morning of Friday June 7. The training lectures and examples will be provided by experts from TUV-Nord, a global leader in safety processes and functional safety. Course attendees will also recieve the TUV-Nord FMEDA Workbench, a practical excel-based workbench for calculating safety-related metrics as specified in IEC 61508. Participants will also receive a hard copy manual providing a comprehensive view of the IEC 61508 standard and its implications and requirements for industrial functional safety.
