CompTIA Selects PEOPLECERT's Online Proctoring Service for Global Exam Delivery
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., March 4, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CompTIA and PEOPLECERT today announced the signing of a global agreement for the delivery of CompTIA certification exams through PEOPLECERT's online (web) proctoring delivery service.
Candidates for CompTIA certification exams can access PEOPLECERT's online proctoring service, which enables them to choose the time and location of their exam and take the exam through a secure environment with the support of an online proctor.
Collaboration between the two organizations begins immediately with the CompTIA Strata IT Fundamentals exam. Other CompTIA exams will be added in the future.
PEOPLECERT's online proctoring services adds to CompTIA's current exam delivery channels and supports the association's global outreach by making CompTIA exams available at any location worldwide.
"The global demand for IT workers with validated skills continues to grow," said Terry Erdle, executive vice president, skills certification, CompTIA. "We're meeting this demand by making our certification exams more accessible to more people in more locations.
"We're pleased to team with PEOPLECERT," Erdle continued. "Their robust online proctoring service provides the greater accessibility we seek with our stringent requirements for secure exam delivery."
With nearly 1.8 million certifications awarded worldwide, CompTIA is the largest provider of vendor-neutral certifications for IT professionals. CompTIA has more than 30 years of experience in supporting professional development of the global IT workforce through certification. In 2013 IT professionals earned more than 125,000 CompTIA certifications.
"PEOPLECERT is delighted to have been selected as CompTIA's partner. CompTIA is an established organization, recognized for the superiority of its services to IT professionals and our partnership demonstrates that PEOPLECERT meets CompTIA's strict quality standards. We look forward to a fruitful partnership that will help CompTIA's global outreach, delivering on its mission to advance professionals' skills," said Byron Nicolaides, PEOPLECERT's chairman and chief executive officer.
Although widely adopted in the academic sector, online proctoring has seen a slow growth in the certification industry that has traditionally been a brick and mortar one. However, continuous investment in its quality and security features by global certification organizations such as PEOPLECERT, which is ISO 17024 accredited and certified with global quality standards, including ISO 27001 for Information Security, is today making online proctoring the fastest growing trend in the professional certification industry. Already PEOPLECERT's largest partners - global training organizations and corporations-, deliver their exams through the organization's online proctoring service and the number continues to grow.
