Connecticut Entrepreneur Makes Inc. 500 List of Fastest-Growing Privately Held Companies in the United States
NEW BRITAIN, Conn., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- David Evans opened his first business while in college at age 19. Now, a little over a decade removed from his first enterprise, one of David's companies has made the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing, privately held companies in America.

David's company, EasySeat.net, is an on-line entertainment ticket reseller based in New Britain, Connecticut. EasySeat.net ranks as number 176 on the annual list compiled by Inc. Magazine, a national business publication delivering advice, tools, and services that help business owners and CEOs start, run, and grow their businesses.
"For a compulsive entrepreneur like me, this is a pretty big deal," said Evans. "The work that's gone into EasySeat represents the culmination of hard work and lessons learned from three other private enterprises I started prior to creating EasySeat. I must be doing something right, in other words."
The Inc. 500|5000 ranks companies by overall revenue growth over a three-year period, using detailed revenue figures provided by business owners to create a value that represents business growth. The top 5000 companies make the master list, but only those companies in the top 500 are profiled in the September issue of Inc. Magazine.
The national ranking also makes EasySeat the 6th fastest-growing retail company in the country, as well as the fastest-growing company in the entire state of Connecticut. Evans credits a good idea, hard work, and motivation from his wife for his company's success.
"There's no real secret other than having an idea to which you are willing to commit your resources—both time and money—and then surviving the late nights, long days, and near-death experiences to turn that idea into reality," Evans said. "But my wife Kinga played a pivotal role as well. She, much more than I, has lived the American dream."
Evans' wife emigrated 10 years ago from a village in Poland, and in that time has earned her BS and MBA, and is now the Vice President of Strategy for a mid-sized regional bank.
When asked what was on the horizon for a self-described compulsive entrepreneur, Evans replied matter-of-factly, "Building more companies. Since becoming a finalist for the Inc. 500 list, I have launched a new web site, TicketClarity.com, started a new company, Geode Ventures, and made my first Angel investment."
ABOUT David Evans: 32-year-old David Evans is the principal owner of EasySeat.net (2005), as well as the technology development company Geode Software (2000), ticket clearinghouse TicketClarity.com (2010), and most recently launched Geode Ventures (2010), a startup consultancy and seed capital firm targeted toward emerging or new businesses, and entrepreneurs just like him. He is married and lives in Bristol, Connecticut.
