Consumer Advisory Regarding Hood Ice Cream

    CHELSEA, Mass., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- HP Hood today announced a warning
 to consumers who are allergic to walnuts and have purchased Hood Chippedy
 Chocolaty Ice Cream after January 28, 1999.
     A small number of half gallon containers of Hood Chippedy Chocolaty Ice
 Cream contain Maple Walnut Ice Cream and could pose a health risk to anyone
 with an allergy to walnuts.
     The problem is confined to half gallons of Chippedy Chocolaty Ice Cream
 with date code 01/25/00 on the left side panel, which were purchased in
 Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
 No other Hood products are affected.
     Consumers may return the affected ice cream to their local store to obtain
 a refund.  Consumer questions may be directed to Hood at:  1-800-392-6154
