Continental Airlines Public Offering of Convertible Senior Notes
HOUSTON, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) today announced that it intends to make a public offering of $200 million in aggregate principal amount of its convertible senior notes due 2015. Continental intends to grant the underwriters of the notes a thirty-day option to purchase up to an additional $30 million aggregate principal amount of the notes solely to cover over-allotments. Continental expects to use the proceeds of this offering for general corporate purposes. Prior financial guidance regarding year-end unrestricted cash, cash equivalents and short-term investment balances released by Continental on Dec. 1, 2009, did not include any proceeds of this offering. Such guidance is accurate only as of the date it was originally given and is not being updated at this time.
