NEW YORK, Feb. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cottages & Gardens Publications, known for its oversized luxury design magazines, today announced the launch of a new regional publication, New York Cottages & Gardens (NYC&G).  The publication targets design enthusiasts living in the nation's highest-income regions within New York City, Westchester, the Gold Coast of Long Island and Hudson Valley.

Kendell Cronstrom, veteran editor of shelter publications including Elle Decor, House Beautiful, InStyle and Real Simple is the editor-in-chief of NYC&G and will also remain as editor-in-chief of Hamptons Cottages & Gardens (HC&G). D.J. Carey will continue to edit Connecticut Cottages & Gardens (CTC&G) and serve as editorial director of Cottages & Gardens Publications.  Nora Sheehan, most recently responsible for the redesign of Architectural Digest and formerly creative director at prestigious home and fashion luxury magazines including Elle Decor, House Beautiful and Travel + Leisure, is consulting creative director of NYC&G.

"I'm so excited to be editing New York Cottages & Gardens," says Cronstrom. "There are so many great projects in the New York region, which is the epicenter of American design and a natural bridge between our company's successful franchises in Connecticut and the Hamptons."

NYC&G will publish five issues in 2012, two in the spring and three in the fall, with the first issue debuting in March. Content will include luxury design and home decor, real estate, decorating, gardening, entertaining and food.  Lavish exclusive well stories will dominate the magazine every issue including a rooftop terrace garden on an 1840's Brooklyn brownstone to a classic-six apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side; from an ultra-modern house overlooking Long Island Sound to a pre-Revolutionary mansion in the Hudson Valley.

"We've been thinking about this edition for a while and now the time seems right," says Marianne Howatson, CEO & Publication Director. "We have received an extremely enthusiastic response from the design community, our existing partners and the new relationships we've been able to develop already."

Readers familiar with sister publications Hamptons Cottages & Gardens and Connecticut Cottages & Gardens and Westchester Cottages & Gardens already know what to expect -- pages filled with inspiring design and projects characterized by the "sense of place" so deeply associated with the Cottages & Gardens brand. Westchester Cottages & Gardens publication will be folded into NYC&G. "Cottages & Gardens publications success has changed the regional paradigm," adds D.J. Carey. "The homes featured in our publications can compete on any stage because of their globally inspired sense of design."
