
Country Time® Chewy Candy Launched by Sorbee International
TREVOSE, Pa., May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Country Time® Chewy Candy is the newest addition to Sorbee's® line of traditional Country Time lemonade flavored candy. The product will be an important part of the approximately $1 billion non-chocolate chewy candy category, based on the great tasting flavors designed by Sorbee's product development team and the strength of Kraft Foods Country Time® brand, America's Favorite Lemonade. Country Time Chewy Candy will be available in an assortment of irresistible flavors, including lemonade, pink lemonade, peach lemonade and raspberry lemonade in 7-ounce peg bags and in bulk.
According to IRI, for the 52 weeks ended 2/19/12 the non-chocolate chewy candy category totaled approximately $960 million in retail sales (exclusive of Wal-Mart, club and convenience stores) that reflected growth over the prior year period of over three percent (Source: National Candy Association).
Sorbee will market Country Time Chewy Candy to grocery stores, mass merchandisers, drug stores, convenience stores and alternative classes of trade that sell candy. The 7-ounce bag has a suggested retail price of $1.99 to $2.49 and is packed in a 12-count case. The product is also available in a ready display shipper containing 60 units and in a 10-pound bulk case.
