WASHINGTON, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Courtyard by Marriott, Marriott International, Inc.'s (NYSE: MAR) moderately priced lodging product, opens its newest hotel in the Los Angeles area today. The Los Angeles/Century Boulevard Courtyard, located at 6161 West Century Boulevard, is a conversion of the Regency Plaza Hotel built in 1993. The hotel continues Marriott's rapid growth of the chain throughout the United States and marks the seventh courtyard to open in the Los Angeles area. A Grand Caribbean themed event for the business community will kick off the opening at the hotel from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today. Conveniently located near Los Angeles Airport, and 12 miles from the heart of downtown Los Angeles, the Courtyard is a perfect location for business and leisure travelers seeking moderately priced accommodations. The new hotel is a result of a franchise agreement with Sunstone Hotel Properties, Inc. headquartered in San Clement, Calif. Sunstone Hotel Properties also manages three other Courtyard hotels located in Cypress, Fresno and Riverside, Calif.
