ATLANTA, May 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cox Radio announced today the
 promotion of Virgil Thompson to vice president and general manager of KISS-FM
 and KSMG-FM in San Antonio. Mr. Thompson had previously served as operations
 manager of KISS-FM and KSMG-FM as well as format coordinator for Cox Radio's
 rock format stations. He will now report to Ben Reed, regional vice president
 and market manager of Cox Radio's San Antonio cluster.  The promotion is
 effective immediately.
     Ben Reed commented, "With 22 years of radio experience, including 12 years
 in the San Antonio market, Virgil is one of the region's most seasoned radio
 executives.  As operations manager for the past nine years, Virgil's
 programming skills have supported strong ratings performance for KISS and KSMG
 in this competitive and fast-growing market.  We are thrilled to promote an
 executive directly to general manager from programming management, and look
 forward to Virgil leading these stations."
     Mr. Thompson had served as operations manager of KISS-FM and KSMG-FM since
 1994, as well as format coordinator for Cox Radio's rock format stations since
 2000.  Prior to that, he was the program director at KISS-FM from 1991 to
 1994.  Mr. Thompson has also held on-air and programming positions at stations
 in San Diego, Savannah, GA, and Gainesville, FL.  Mr. Thompson is a graduate
 of the University of Florida.
