Crystal Hunt Earns Featured Role in Magic Mike XXL
Daytime Emmy Award nominee, Crystal Hunt, appears in one of the most highly-anticipated films of the Summer.
LOS ANGELES, July 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Crystal Hunt has graced daytime television as Stacy Morasco in One Life to Live and Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light, a role that earned her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination. From daytime to the big screen, Hunt is now featured in one of the most popular movies of the Summer, Magic Mike XXL.
In this sequel to Steven Soderbergh's 2012 Magic Mike, Mike Lane (Channing Tatum) comes out of retirement from stripping for the promise of excitement, being on stage and uniting with his dance crew. With a lively female-driven 2015 box office, Magic Mike XXL is an ideal girls-night-out movie of the summer. Among the cast of eccentric characters, Crystal Hunt plays Lauren.
"As an actress, it was an honor to be casted and work with such talented individuals," Crystal Hunt reveals. "As a woman, it was actually an empowering role and the comradery among the females on set was apparent."
Apart from Hunt, other actresses in Magic Mike XXL include Jada Pinkett Smith as Rome, Andie MacDowell as Nancy, Elizabeth Banks as Paris, Rhoda Griffis as Julia, Raeden Greer as Charlotte, Jane McNeill as Mae, and Kimberley Drummond as Caroline.
Born in Clearwater, Florida, Crystal Hunt held a passion for the arts from the beginning. She began her career by participating in pageants at the age of 2. Hunt went on to star in various commercials that include one for The Walt Disney Company's 25th anniversary celebration and an anti-drug advertisement with *NSYNC. She is best known for her role as Lizzie Spaulding, the troubled daughter of the long-suffering couple Philip and Beth Raines, on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light, which she played from 2003 to 2006. She received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2005 for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for the role.
Hunt appeared in the 2005 film The Derby Stallion, and appeared in the 2007 Universal Pictures film Sydney White as Demetria "Dinky" Rosemead Hodgekiss. She joined ABC's One Life to Live in February 2009, playing Stacy Morasco.
Most recently, Crystal Hunt can be seen in "Queens of Drama," a docu-series coming to Pop (formerly TVGN). The show follows a group of former daytime and primetime actresses working together in front of and behind the cameras to develop, pitch and produce a new series. The actresses hope to land a pilot deal by the end of the season. The series features stars, Crystal Hunt (Guiding Light, One Life to Live), Lindsay Hartley (All My Children, Days of Our Lives), Vanessa Marcil (Las Vegas, General Hospital), Hunter Tylo (The Bold and the Beautiful) and Chrystee Pharris (Passions, General Hospital) with special appearances by Donna Mills (Knots Landing, Melrose Place).
"Similar to the strong women portrayed in Magic Mike XXL, we're a group of strong women from daytime and primetime dramas," Crystal Hunt says. "We've discovered a way to use our extensive experience in the 'soap opera world' to create a script that's truly unique and original."
