CTV's CANADA AM Welcomes 40th Season with Big Party and Big Numbers, Reaching 1.4 Million Viewers

TORONTO, Oct. 29, 2012 /CNW/ - Last Friday CANADA AM celebrated its 40^th Anniversary with 1.4 million individual Canadians on CTV and CTV News Channel, overnight data confirms. As 13 former CANADA AM hosts joined current hosts Beverly Thomson , Marci Ien , and Jeff Hutcheson at Toronto's Masonic Temple, the two-and-a-half hour special was watched by nearly 300,000 viewers, up 40% compared to its season average, and peaking with 479,000 between 7:30 and 8 a.m. The special also featured an interview with the longest-serving male co-host Norm Perry , while Canadian singer-songwriter Burton Cummings performed three of his greatest hits to mark the morning show's 40-year milestone.
