Dani Nadel Named Chief Digital Marketing Officer, Scholastic Book Clubs and e-Commerce
Tom Burke is promoted to Chief e-Commerce Officer, Book Clubs and e-Commerce
NEW YORK, Oct. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL), the global children's publishing, education and media company, today announced that Dani Nadel has joined the Company as Chief Digital Marketing Officer, Scholastic Book Clubs and e-Commerce. In this role, Ms. Nadel will work closely with Tom Burke, formerly head of e-Commerce at Barnes and Noble, who joined Scholastic in 2009 and has been promoted to Chief e-Commerce Officer, Book Clubs and e-Commerce. Nadel and Burke report to Judy Newman, President, Scholastic Book Clubs and e-Commerce.
Dani Nadel joins the Book Clubs and e-Commerce team at Scholastic that has been part of a company-wide strategic initiative to transition to technology-enabled reading in the Company's children's book business. She will be responsible for framing a comprehensive marketing plan and robust merchandising strategy for the NEW COOL (Clubs Ordering Online) platform and the e-bookstore that is evolving from the COOL platform. She will also work with marketing teams across the Company to promote the Scholastic e-reading app that rolls out later this fall.
Nadel joins Scholastic from Publicis Modem, a premiere New York based full-service digital agency focused on digital marketing, platform development, media/SEM, social, mobile and emerging platforms, where she was President since 2008 and EVP, Managing Director from 2007-2008. She also served as EVP, Managing Director at Modem Media and Senior Vice President at Digitas. Clients have included Hasbro, General Mills, SUBWAY, PayPal, and LG Electronics, among many others who are leaders in their industries.
