New Partner Brings Extensive Corporate Transactional and Private Equity Experience to Firm

WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- David G. Pommerening, a corporate deal lawyer with substantial experience in M&A and private equity matters, has joined Baker Botts L.L.P. as a partner in the firm's Corporate Department. He will be based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office and will lead that office's corporate transactional practice.

Pommerening's practice involves the representation of both foreign and domestic clients in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and commercial and financial transactions. In addition to his transactional practice, he provides strategic counseling and regularly advises clients on general corporate governance and compliance matters. Prior to joining Baker Botts, he was a partner with O'Melveny & Myers LLP in its Washington, D.C. office.

Pommerening has represented both buyers and sellers in acquisitions and dispositions of public and private companies in the health care, defense, communications and hospitality industries. He has also advised clients on asset transactions, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and various forms of corporate finance, as well as secured and unsecured bank financings. He has represented both fund sponsors and investors in the private equity arena.
