PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- David R. Coxon, president and CEO, State Bank of Georgia, Fayetteville, Ga., was elected chair of The Risk Management Association (RMA). John J. Wixted Jr., chief risk officer and executive vice president of PNC Mortgage Company, a subsidiary of PNC Bank, was elected vice chair. Their one-year terms began September 1, 2010.

An active member of RMA since the early 1980s, Coxon formerly was chair of RMA's Community Bank Council. He also is a past chair of RMA's Atlanta Chapter.

Prior to leading State Bank of Georgia, Coxon was president and CEO of Southern Community Bank, Fayetteville, and United Community Bank, Fairburn, Ga. He began his banking career at Columbia Bank & Trust, now part of Synovus, and also held senior management positions at Bank South and United Bank.

Wixted formerly was chair of RMA's Regulatory Relations Council and is still a member of that council, as well as of the Enterprise Risk Management Council. He is a past officer in RMA's Chicago Chapter.

Prior to joining PNC Bank, the new vice chair was senior vice president for banking supervision for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and held several key leadership positions with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
