ddc brings ancient roman dining style to DIFFA's Dining By Design Recline to Dine by Design
NEW YORK, March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ddc and Architect, David Ling will be bringing something a little "DIFFA-rent" to the Dining By Design New York 2014 show at Pier 94 this year. David's concept started with the idea of "reclining while dining" deriving from the ancient dining custom of reclining to dine - something very familiar to how biblical scholars and ancient artists would dine. Past studies have shown that it's healthier and more natural to have a reclined or relaxed posture while dining also aiding in digestion.
The concept is also serving as a social commentary on dining customs in the United States. People are dining at tables less and less and more frequently dining on sofas and in their living rooms while watching tv and on social media. Times are changing and so is the dining style in which all different types of people are using at home. This installation will serve as part vignette and part performance piece with models also being used during the event within the installation on opening night. DIFFA : Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS began its 30th Anniversary celebration this year and will kick off this multi-city tour in New York in conjunction with the AD Home Design Show.
