NEW YORK, June 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the successful launch of its Dekton XGloss Series, the most reflective and durable surfacing available in the marketplace, Dekton by Cosentino has expanded its color offerings to include three new colors in the XGloss Naturals collection. Also making its debut is Trilium, a color manufactured from materials recycled from its own production process.
Trilium captures the visual texture and color variation of aged and oxidized stainless steel with hues ranging from deep grays and blacks to rusty undertones, giving it an incredibly genuine appearance. This is the first time Dekton, the ultra-compact surface with advanced technical properties for both interior and exterior application, has used recycled materials in its manufacturing process. Unlike the material that inspired it, Trilium is incredibly smooth to the touch and impervious to the elements, scratches, stains, UV rays and temperature shock.
The ultra-compact surface also introduces its XGloss Naturals series, comprised of three new sleek colorways that offer a modern take on some of the most sought-after marbles. The pronounced, yet simplified veining in a high-lacquer finish is an industry first – capturing the allure of natural stone but with the ultimate durability and performance that are truly unique to Dekton. Glacier embraces delicate warm veining with creamy undertones, Fiord features the subtle contrast between shades of white, cream and gray, and Tundra takes inspiration from ancient marble, combining crème and ocher hues with negative space suited for traditional and contemporary palettes alike.
"Both designers and homeowners are putting a greater emphasis on durability and ease of care when it comes to their material selections," says Lorenzo Marquez, VP of Marketing for Cosentino North America. "Cosentino has developed advanced technology that captures the depth, drama and beauty of stone but in a material that's ultra-resilient against everyday use. The aesthetic and performance of Dekton go hand in hand."
Dekton's durability makes it suitable for an array of indoor and outdoor applications, including countertops, façades, cladding, flooring, stairs and more. It is available in large format, which allows for seamless creative possibilities for architects and designers.
About Dekton® by Cosentino
Dekton is made using a proprietary process called Particle Sintering Technology (PST), an accelerated version of the change that rocks and stone undergo in nature when subjected to heat and pressure over thousands of years. The result: an ultra-compact surface with superior technical characteristics, including resistance to UV, scratches, stains, thermal shock and very low water absorption. Its resistance to thermal shock against heat, frost and thawing allows Dekton to be used in any climate, offering potential for seamless design from indoor to outdoor spaces. Such unique characteristics and durability make Dekton ideal for an array of surface applications, including countertops, vanities, shower walls, flooring, decking, building façades and many other architectural surfaces.
Dekton is offered in large format slabs, measuring 56" x 126", and in three thicknesses: 0.8cm, 1.2cm and 2cm. Dekton retails for $65-$130 per square foot installed, depending on thickness, color, and market at Cosentino Centers and kitchen and bath retailers nationwide.
