Deloitte Renews Support Of City Year, Becomes Its "National Strategy And Innovation Sponsor"

Deloitte teams with City Year to innovate and maximize its impact in schools across the country

BOSTON, Nov. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- City Year and Deloitte have announced that Deloitte is renewing its support as City Year's "National Strategy and Innovation Sponsor" for the next year, with a total investment of more than $1.1 million in cash and pro-bono consulting services. Since 2001, Deloitte has invested $8.1 million in cash and pro-bono consulting services in City Year.

In 27 cities across the country and two affiliates abroad, City Year AmeriCorps members serve full-time in schools providing students with tutoring and in-class support, extended day programs, as well as organizing school-wide initiatives to increase academic achievement and student engagement. As City Year has evolved into an education organization, Deloitte's consulting work has been a driving force supporting the development of City Year's long-term impact strategy, strategic roadmap, implementation plans, and staffing structures. Deloitte consultants who work with City Year become a part of the City Year team, helping address key strategic and operational challenges related to City Year's model.

Deloitte professionals offer their skills to City Year AmeriCorps members and staff through a mentorship program and by facilitating career development workshops for AmeriCorps members and offering professional development trainings for City Year staff. This year Deloitte will be expanding its direct engagement with students with workshops designed to help middle school students set goals and prepare for the transition to high school.
