The award is based on yearlong evaluations of supplier systems, incoming
quality, response time, cost reduction capability, design support, timely
shipments, product performance and complexity, and warranty.
"The Master Quality Award is a result of the hard work by all team members
that support the entire 600 gear value stream, both inside and outside Plant
7," said Dennis Hoeg, Plant 7 manager. "This includes engineering, production
control, quality and the operations people in the plant -- all working towards
the single goal of exceeding Nissan's expectations. I am proud of the entire
 team's dedication."
This is the first year the plant has received the award. In addition to
integral gears, Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems' Plant 7 also makes power rack
 and pinion gears and valves.
