Delta, Atlantic Southeast Airlines Announce Promotions
Delta names Greg Kennedy vice president-Airport Customer Service West
ASA names Carmine Testa vice president-Atlanta Airport
ATLANTA, July 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) and
Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA), its wholly owned Delta Connection
subsidiary, today named two company veterans to key operational roles.
Delta named Gregory W. "Greg" Kennedy vice president - Airport Customer
Service West, replacing Paulette Corbin, who had been promoted to senior vice
president - In-Flight Service. At the same time, ASA named Carmine Testa,
currently Delta's field director - Airport Customer Service (Florida), as vice
president - Atlanta Airport, replacing Kennedy.
"It is a great pleasure to recognize Greg Kennedy for the excellent work
he has done at ASA and in other areas of the Delta organization over the past
19 years with this well-deserved promotion," said Rich Cordell, Delta's senior
vice president - Airport Customer Service. "Greg is known for his unique
ability to engage employees at all levels and for his visible leadership
style."
In his new position, Kennedy will lead 55 Delta stations with more than
4,000 employees across the West and Midwest.
At ASA, Testa will continue Kennedy's work to build the airline's Atlanta
flight hub, its biggest, into a showcase for excellent operations and customer
service.
"Carmine is a creative leader with a proven record of results in Delta's
Airport Customer Service organization," said Bryan LaBrecque, ASA's senior
vice president - Ground Operations. "Carmine will continue to improve ASA's
service quality at its largest hub by leading programs to increase employee
engagement, improve our facilities and increase operational reliability."
Since 2003, ASA has boosted operational performance at Atlanta to the
highest levels in history. Through May 2004, ASA on-time flight departures are
nine percent improved over the same period last year, with mishandled baggage
claims 25 percent improved.
"We are working to build a winning organization in Atlanta that focuses on
the importance of our hometown hub," LaBrecque said. "Greg Kennedy has played
an important role in ASA's improvements at Atlanta over the last nine months
and we look forward to continuing this momentum with Carmine Testa's
leadership and enthusiasm."
Greg Kennedy served as ACS field director in Cincinnati before joining ASA
last year. He has also held the positions of Airport Coordination Center
manager and Ramp Services manager in Atlanta as well as Airport Coordination
Center manager in Salt Lake City. Kennedy is a graduate of the University of
Utah, with a B.S. in Business Management. He and his wife Pamela have four
children and will reside in Salt Lake City.
Carmine Testa has more than 28 years of experience at Delta, including
assignments as interim director of the New York (JFK) station, ACS regional
director - Southeast Region, general manager - Delta Express, and ACS manager
at the Orlando and Atlanta hubs. In Atlanta, Carmine led a team of more than
600 Delta ACS employees on A and T Concourses between November 2000 and
December 2001. He also has played key roles in the development of Delta low-
fare products Song and Delta Express. He and his wife Theresa have two
children and reside in Marietta, Ga.
