Facebook(R) Live Feed Technology to Enable Broadcast Viewers and Conference Attendees to Connect and Engage with Each Other Throughout the Show

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The DEMO conference, known as the launch pad for emerging technologies, today announced that it will broadcast its upcoming DEMO 09 event live on the Web using BitGravity's BG Live(TM) highly-scalable flash-based video stream service. DEMO also announced today that through Facebook's Live Feed technology, broadcast viewers will be able to connect and engage with each other while watching the latest class of companies selected to launch their new product innovations on the DEMO stage. In addition, a new series of DEMObeat panel discussions taking place at DEMO 09 and hosted by new Co-Executive Producer, Matt Marshall, CEO of VentureBeat will display the Facebook Live Feed on screen in the DEMO ballroom so that conference attendees can interact with their peers watching the live feed around the world.

The broadcast will begin at 8:30 AM PST on March 2 and March 3 and can be seen at http://www.demo.com/live.

Whether watching the stream online or attending the conference in Palm Desert, each user will be able to update their Facebook status directly from the DEMO 09 Live player and also see and comment on status updates posted by friends and other Facebook users tuning in to the broadcast. Status updates posted on the Live Feed will be published in the user's Facebook News Feed with a link tagged back to the DEMO 09 Live stream, so friends can click the tag and watch the stream while participating in the conversation.
