Denver Magazine Hires Accomplished Culinary Journalist as Food Editor
Former Food & Wine editor, Stacey Brugeman, joins the staff of the monthly regional glossy.
New position represents magazine's commitment to food and beverage coverage.
DENVER, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Denver Magazine has brought Stacey Brugeman on board to fill the new staff position of food editor. Brugeman, a former contributing editor for the publication, has a broad depth of knowledge in the food and beverage industries along with years of experience as a journalist. In the new role, Brugeman will manage the magazine's "Savor" section, as well as other food and drink content.
"Food and beverage coverage is one of the most valuable components of a city magazine and our decision to bring in an editor who is focused solely on the subject represents our dedication to being the authority on where and what to eat in Denver," says Michael Ledwitz, Denver Magazine publisher/editor. "To have someone as talented and educated as Stacey on our team will make this promise a reality month after month."
Brugeman's love of food began at a young age. Raised in the agriculture industry, she traveled to tiny towns and tables in more than 35 countries. Seeking city life, she then ate, drank, and lived in New York City for nearly a decade, where she held the positions of editorial assistant for Saveur and research editor for Food & Wine. Her work has also appeared in Travel + Leisure, Men's Journal, Natural Health, and The Denver Post, among other titles.
Brugeman holds a B.A. in history and English from the University of Virginia, an M.A. in food studies from New York University, and an Intermediate Certificate in Wine from the International Wine Center. Brugeman relocated to Denver in 2007 and resides in the city's Highland neighborhood. She enjoys fine dining, vegetable gardening, Colorado microbrews, and skiing.
"I have an insatiable devotion not only to all things food and drink but to sharing that devotion with the public," says Brugeman. "Building on the foundation Denver Magazine has already established, I look forward to bringing readers a series of exciting developments in our food coverage."
Brugeman's hiring is the latest change at the fast growing publication. Earlier this year, Denver Magazine forged partnerships with Denver Center Attractions, The Starz Denver Film Festival, Fox 31 KDVR, and KWGN The Deuce.
