Denver Mattress Fundraiser Gives a Major Boost to the Salvation Army Nationwide

    DENVER, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Exceeding expectations for its Operation:
 REST ASSURED, the Denver Mattress Company will donate $150,000 dollars to the
 Salvation Army commands nationwide. The check presentation will take place at
 10:00 AM Thursday January 30, 2003 at 1370 Pennsylvania in Denver, Colorado.
     During the Operation: REST ASSURED campaign, Denver Mattress fundraising
 efforts tied its donation to mattress purchases from November 29, 2002 through
 December 31, 2002. The company used in-store elements as well as newspaper
 advertising to promote the campaign. In addition, Denver Mattress augmented
 its television and newspaper advertising in order to pay for media that
 specifically promoted direct giving to the Salvation Army.
     "With the help of the Denver Mattress Company and Operation Rest Assured,
 we will reach more than 30,000 people this year with shelter, food, rent
 assistance and many other services," said Lt. Colonel Harold Brodin,
 divisional commander of the Salvation Army's Intermountain Division.
     "The Denver Mattress Company's donations make a positive impact on
 communities in 18 states, helping people become self sufficient again."
     The Salvation Army will dispense the funds to chapters in the states where
 Denver Mattress stores are located, which include: Arizona, Arkansas,
 Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Montana,
 Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming.
