NEW YORK, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Desktop Alert Inc.
(http://www.desktopalert.net) has released Jabcast 2.0 Secure for Linux which
is based on an open source, secure, ad-free alternative to consumer IM
services like AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo. Jabcast is a set of streaming XML
protocols and technologies that enable any two entities on the Internet to
exchange messages, presence, and other structured information in close to real
time. Jabcast technology enables you to run your own IM service, whether you
want to host a public server or keep your messages safely behind the firewall.
"Our flagship clients requested a secure instant messaging solution for
Linux. The new acquisition of Jabcast Inc. and its' secure instant messaging
technology provided Desktop Alert with the ability to deliver a robust,
scalable and secure turn-key instant messaging solution. Jabcast is a perfect
fit and compliment to the Desktop Alert suite of products. Desktop Alert Inc.
is poised to be a leader in the alert software niche. The addition of
Jabcasts' secure XMPP technology is one more step in that direction. Jabcast
has also aided Desktop Alerts' pursuit of the addition of simplified and
secure identity federation," added Howard Ryan, Founder Desktop Alert Inc.
Jabcast Secure Jabber Servers (SJS) is a secure next-generation instant
messaging system that enables text, voice, and file content to be used
securely by large corporations and government organizations across multiple
operating environments. The Jabcast SJS client encrypts data as it is
transmitted, while the Jabcast SJS server detects a message's encryption level
and routes it accordingly.
Jabcast SJS guarantees absolute security of transmitted information from
its point of origin to its point of destination, hiding the path and
encrypting the sender's address from outside observation. It utilizes a
follow-the-user approach that recognizes who is available, what digital
service they are using, and how to route information to them.
