DOT Training Now Available in Spanish
CARY, N.C., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Anyone working in a job involving
hazardous materials must be trained, according to DOT (49 CFR 172.704). To
help companies meet this requirement, Environmental Resource Center is now
offering DOT training in Spanish.
The number of Spanish-speaking workers in industry is increasing at a
rapid pace. In order to meet the necessary training requirements and make
sure that information is understood, it is often essential to provide training
in Spanish.
In our Spanish-language hazardous materials courses, attendees will learn
how to handle hazardous materials safely and in conformance with DOT
requirements, including which materials are regulated and how to handle them
properly; how to select containers, marking and labeling containers; container
condition requirements; loading and unloading procedures; placarding; and how
to fill out shipping papers. Students will also learn how to avoid common
mistakes and what to do in the event of a transportation-related hazardous
material release.
Training is offered at locations across the country, and can be provided
on-site as well, often for a fraction of the cost of sending employees to a
course off site. Following are scheduled course dates and locations:
Houston - Friday, April 3, 1998
Los Angeles - Friday, May 1, 1998
Dallas - Friday, May 8, 1998
San Diego - Friday, June 5, 1998
Phoenix - Thursday, June 18, 1998
San Antonio - Friday, September 11, 1998
Tampa - Friday, October 9, 1998
Houston - Friday, October 30, 1998
Los Angeles - Friday, November 6, 1998
The cost for each course is $399 per person. Register two people for the
same course and send a third person to that course for free! Call Victoria
