Dr. Deanna M. Heier Awarded CCMEP Designation
RESTON, Va., Feb. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Clinical Care Options (CCO), a leader in education for healthcare professionals, is proud to announce that Deanna M. Heier, Ph.D., CCO's Director of Operations, was awarded the designation of Certified CME Professional (CCMEP™) with certification for the next 3 years. Dr. Heier was acknowledged as the 300th recipient of the CCMEP designation at an award ceremony held during the Alliance for CME's 36th annual conference in San Francisco, California.
The designation of CCMEP is awarded to CME professionals who have met the criteria for certification as determined by the National Commission for Certification of CME Professionals (NC-CME), which include requirements in CME experience, education, and rigorous examination. A CME professional is defined as a person working in the CME field who adheres to the ethics and standards of the profession and practices the competencies relating to his/her job or volunteer position.
The CCMEP credential is an important measure of competence for the professionals who develop continuing education programs for more than 800,000 practicing physicians and 80,000 physician assistants in the United States. The NC-CME certification program is designed to verify the knowledge and skills of CME staff.
"We are very proud of Dr. Heier's accomplishment," said Linda Coogle, CCO's President and Chief Operations Officer. "Based on the strict criteria for this certification, Dr. Heier's achievement is well earned. She is a shining example of a CCMEP at CCO and within the CME enterprise."
