Apr 26, 2001, 01:00 ET from Duquesne Light

    PITTSBURGH, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, April 27, at 1 p.m., close
to 50 students from two of Duquesne Light's partnership schools, Clairton
Elementary and Middle, will be performing with Piffaro -- a seven-member
Philadelphia-based ensemble that specializes in a musical repertoire of the
Medieval, Renaissance and early Baroque periods.
As part of the Renaissance and Baroque Society's 2000-2001 Outreach and
Education program, Piffaro has spent the week teaching, demonstrating,
lecturing, and performing in the schools as a way to integrate music into the
general curriculum. The week-long residency, sponsored by Duquesne Light,
will culminate in Friday's performance -- featuring the young musicians and
the Piffaro members -- at the Clairton Education Center.
