Eco Building Products Awarded An Order In Excess Of Seven Hundred Ninety-Six Thousand Dollars ECOB Awarded Supply Contract for Eco Red Shield Coated Lumber, Trusses and EWP for Construction of 77 units Apartment Complex Located in Marina Del Rey, California
VISTA, Calif., March 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Eco Building Products, Inc., (OTCQB: ECOB) announced today that Eco Red Shield™ coated lumber, Trusses and Engineered Wood Products (EWP) are the product of choice to build a 77 unit apartment complex in Marina Del Rey, California. TriCal Construction, Inc., the developer of the project, chose Eco Red Shield™ protected lumber products based upon the merits of the lumber protection against mold, wood-rot, termites and fire. ECOB quoted Eco Red Shield coated lumber at a value added price versus building with raw lumber and no protection or warranty as the material supplier only. Lumber packages will begin shipping to the job site mid-March.
"The Company is now in the hunt for more "supply only" contracts from companies similar to TriCal that see the benefit of investing a little more now, than a lot later. Replacing termite eaten lumber or lumber riddled with mold related problems has proven to be costly to builders. Eco's Defensive Building Practice campaign is out to educate builders, and construction defect attorneys on how to defend against things like termites and wood fiber strength in lateral loads; fire ignition on engineered wood products and OSB; and now the more common mold outbreaks we're beginning to see in the wake of super storms," says Steve Conboy, President/CEO, Eco Building Products, Inc. "Our efforts in the East after the damaging effects caused by Sandy revolve around teaching how to build/rebuild 'defensive' because it's more cost-effective to do it the right way the first time. Rebuilding with raw lumber and expecting a different result after a fire in Colorado, or a Hurricane is the definition of insanity. It's amazing how builders and contractors all use treated green and brown lumber in the garden, but where it matters most in home construction, they will risk mold, termites and fire for a dollar more a stud when the average house has less than five-hundred studs," added Conboy.
