WASHINGTON, Nov. 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The International Association of Political Consultants (IAPC) elected Tom Edmonds, Republican media consultant, as its new president at its world conference in Panama City, Panama. Edmonds is president of Edmonds Associates, Inc., a nationally recognized Republican media consulting firm based in Vienna, Virginia.

"I'm honored to be elected president of the IAPC," stated Edmonds. "Members of the IAPC play a crucial role in elections all over the world. As president, I'm dedicated to seeing our organization continue to grow and bring in a new generation of consultants from democracies all over the globe," added Edmonds.

The IAPC consists of over 150 members representing nearly four dozen countries. The IAPC, which was established in Paris, France in 1968, will hold its next annual meeting in Paris in November of 2010.

The IAPC has 23 officers and directors. In addition to Tom Edmonds, newly elected U.S. officers include Nancy Todd Tyner, treasurer from Nevada; Faye Diamond, secretary from Colorado; and Ben Goddard, chairman from Washington, D.C.

U.S. members elected to the board of directors include Brad O'Leary, Sally Hunter, Greg Diamond and Wayne Johnson.
