EHE International Showcases The Skin Cancer Foundation's Go with Your Own Glow™ Anti-Tanning Campaign in Rockefeller Center

Thanks to a generous donation, the Foundation's awareness message is showcased for the second consecutive year

NEW YORK, Aug. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Skin Cancer Foundation's anti-tanning PSA campaign will be displayed in Rockefeller Center for the month of August thanks to a donation from preventative healthcare company EHE International. The Foundation has been donated the coveted window display space at 10 Rockefeller Center to showcase its Go with Your Own Glow™ campaign, which discourages tanning behaviors and encourages women to embrace their natural skin tone.

"A tan, whether it's obtained in a tanning bed or on the beach is dangerous and comes with consequences, including premature aging and an increased skin cancer risk," said Deborah S. Sarnoff, MD, Senior Vice President of The Skin Cancer Foundation. "We would like to thank EHE International for giving us this great opportunity for the second year in a row. This generous donation allows the Foundation to educate a vast and diverse audience about the dangers of tanning."

More than 90 percent of the visible changes commonly attributed to skin aging are caused by the sun. In addition, about 86 percent of melanomas and about 90 percent of nonmelanoma skin cancers can be attributed to exposure to the sun's harmful UV rays.

The Foundation's Go With Your Own Glow™ campaign was created in 2008 and features beautifully illustrated print public service advertisements developed to encourage women to love — and protect — their skin, whatever its natural hue. Go With Your Own Glow™ relies not just on health and safety information but also on fashion and beauty trends to convey the message that tanning is unhealthy and no longer in style.

This year's window display art features an elegant woman in a floor-length gown walking the red carpet, as if she's attending a Hollywood premiere. To convey the message that tanned skin is passé, the image is supported by the tagline, "Tanning's fifteen minutes are over. Let your inner health, beauty, and vitality shine through."
