ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- EMC Publishing, LLC ("EMC"), an independent educational publisher, today announced it had acquired Lawrenceville Press, Inc. ("LVP" or the "Company"), a Pennington, NJ-based developer and publisher of computer applications and programming textbooks for the U.S. and Canadian school market. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. LVP publishes educational and teacher-resource materials covering computer applications and programming. The Company was founded in 1981 by Bruce Presley, a former teacher and administrator at The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, NJ. Mr. Presley was a member of the founding committee of the Advanced Placement Computer Science examination, and was a consultant to the College Entrance Examination Board. Up until the time of the transaction Presley served as the President of the Company. He is now forming a commercial photography business, Downtown Loft Studio, Inc., for which he will serve as President. Over the course of the last five years, LVP has released nine new titles, including "A Guide to Microsoft Office 2007" and "A Guide to Programming in Java, 2nd Edition" in 2007.
