Empowerment Productions wins 2013 IPPY Award EggMania awarded "Best Children's Illustrated ebook"
AUSTIN, Texas, May 7, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- EggMania: Where's the Egg in Exactly? received a coveted IPPY award for 2013 Best Children's ebook. Written by Sherry Maysonave and illustrated by Denise Caliva, EggMania is an enhanced ebook aimed at children ages 6-12.
Available now on the Apple iBookstore for the iPad, EggMania is a multi-sensory, multi-dimensional ebook. Acknowledging that kids learn through play, EggMania was written to educate and entertain children growing up in a digital world. EggMania is the first ebook in the ManiaTales series.
Selected from over 5,000 book submissions, EggMania will be awarded the IPPY Bronze Medal for the 2013 Best Children's ebook. This is particularly significant since the latest research published by Pearson and Harris Interactive indicates that "nine in ten of today's elementary, middle and high school students believe that mobile devices will change the way students learn in the future (92 percent) and make learning more fun (90 percent)". The 17th annual IPPY awards will take place in NYC on May 29, 2013 in conjunction with the BookExpo America convention.
The ManiaTales series focuses on "interactive imagination" and phonetic word plays, allowing children to interact with words and illustrations through technology. EggMania includes expansive vocabulary (more than 100 advanced words and definitions), 97 pages of original art, narration with sound effects, animation, tongue-twisting rhymes and a hunt-and-find game with over 170 mind-bending fun facts. The next book in the ManiaTales series, EarMania: Where's the Ear in Regardless?, will be released in the fall of 2013.
