MT. LAUREL, N.J., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Emtec, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: ETEC) announced today that it has received Sun
Microsystems' highest level of accreditation -- iForce Strategic Technology
Emtec, a leading systems integrator providing managed services, security
consulting, data management and enterprise infrastructure solutions, has been
a reseller of Sun solutions for more than 15 years. It is one of only 28
companies in the United States to have achieved the iForce Strategic
Technology Integrator status.
The iForce initiative is designed to allow channel partners, such as
Emtec, to team with Sun to deliver proven solutions that help customers -from
start-ups to large enterprises -- harness the power of the Internet and drive
business advantage. These end-to-end solutions focus on three core
strategies: eliminating cost and complexity in the data center, accelerating
the use of Web services and providing secure remote access. These customer-
driven solutions help enterprises leverage the network at every point in the
business environment, including decision support systems, supply chain
management, product design and development, e-mail and communications, as well
as many other functions.
Ken Sauter, Sun Microsystem's vice president for the Northeast Market
Area, said, "From Sun's perspective, knowing that we have a partner like
Emtec that has stepped up to make the necessary investment in resources and
infrastructure makes us feel extremely confident about working with and
recommending them. From an end-user's point of view, the iForce Strategic
Technology Integrator certification is a stamp of approval that says, 'These
folks really know what they're doing.' It demonstrates that Emtec has the
wherewithal to provide complete solutions -- and they are able to do it on a
Said John Howlett, CEO of Emtec, "This accreditation is recognition of the
commitment and investment we've made to selling Sun systems. Having that
recognition from Sun emphasizes to our clients and prospects the high level of
training we've achieved and the depth of our relationship with Sun. This
certification also authorizes us to sell Sun systems anywhere in the United
States, allowing us to better serve our nationwide customers."
The iForce Strategic Technology Integrator certification is awarded to
representatives who have at least 10 sales representatives and 10 systems
engineers certified at the enterprise level for Sun. Five of those 10 systems
engineers must also have a Solaris core certification. An iForce Strategic
Technology Integrator must also meet annual hardware revenue and/or growth
rate goals. Emtec has met all of those requirements, including additional
requirements to also attain the Storage Elite accreditation. Emtec is one of
approximately 55 Storage Elite partners in the United States.
"Sun has always been known for having channel partners with high added
value," said Sauter. "They have the ability and the expertise to assess their
customers' needs and provide complete solutions that comprise hardware,
software and services. Emtec has demonstrated the ability to do just that.
Their people are well trained to sell and support complex solutions on a
Said Howlett, "The combination of Sun technology and Emtec expertise
produces a harmony that will be music to customers' ears for years to come.
We've been a Sun reseller since the late 1980s and, from an enterprise
standpoint, we still believe that Solaris and the Sun platform are one of the
most stable and most reliable platforms. We think Sun's vision continues to
be the right one for our customers."
