Environmental Protection Agency Recognizes PepsiCo for Energy Efficiency Excellence
PURCHASE, N.Y., April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- PepsiCo, Inc. (NYSE: PEP) today announced that it has received the 2014 Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award, which recognizes companies for leadership in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency programs. It is the ninth consecutive year that PepsiCo has received this distinction.
PepsiCo's U.S. operations achieved a four percent improvement in energy efficiency for 2013 as compared to 2012 by applying new technologies and processes to reduce energy consumption. These efforts also delivered nearly $12 million in cost savings for company.
