Ethio-American Doctors On Track To Introduce International Standard Medical Center To Ethiopia Summary of Accomplishments and New Goals from the Company's Third Annual Physician Member Meeting
WASHINGTON, July 25, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Ethio-American Doctors Group, Inc. (EADG) plans to introduce many "firsts" to healthcare in the Horn of Africa: a center of excellence, Joint Center International (JCI) accredited, LEED-certified tertiary healthcare facility based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A significant number of the company's 167 internationally trained Ethiopian Diaspora physician members attended the third annual physician member meeting in the nation's capital on June 29, 2013.
EADG's conservative objectives for the coming fiscal year include: increasing Ethiopian Diaspora physician membership to 300+, recruiting other types of healthcare professionals among the Ethiopian Diaspora, raising funds from social impact investors, solidifying key international partnerships, and establishing a 501(c)3 "not-for-profit" arm for purposes of providing education services and medical treatment to those who cannot afford to pay, obtaining grants, and engaging in public-private partnerships.
EADG has engaged top-level US firms in the fields of hospital architecture (Anthrotects Architects) and structural engineering (Keast-Hood) and has completed programming, master planning and initial design concepts for the hospital. In addition, EADG has engaged Corporate Executive Board to provide business planning and strategy services.
In the coming year, EADG plans to raise the necessary capital to complete the project, break ground and begin construction, and form partnerships on its way to establish a world class hospital to serve the region.
