Everest College to Open Second Orange County Campus
Civic Center Property in Santa Ana will have Capacity for 1,100 Students
SANTA ANA, Calif., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Everest College plans to open its first campus in Santa Ana to help meet the growing demand for hands-on, career-focused education in Orange County. Santa Ana is the county seat and most populous city in Orange County. Everest's parent company, Corinthian Colleges, Inc., has been headquartered in Santa Ana since its founding in 1995.
The 37,109-square-foot campus facility will be located in the Civic Center Professional Plaza at 505 Civic Center Drive, Santa Ana. Renovations to the facility are currently underway and the campus is expected to be open in the summer of 2010. Santa Ana will be the second Everest College campus in Orange County, bringing the total number of Southern California locations to 12.
Everest will be the exclusive tenant in the four-story building, which has capacity for 1,100 students. The campus will also create jobs, bringing approximately 100 positions for faculty and other staff to the area.
"We look forward to serving students in Santa Ana and surrounding areas," said Bob Bosic, president of Everest's West division which currently includes 11 Southern California campuses. "We believe the Orange County market for career training is underserved, especially in the face of an on-going recession and funding cutbacks at public post-secondary institutions. We plan to make our programs readily accessible by offering courses during the day, evenings, and on weekends. In addition, the new campus will be conveniently located next to the freeway and public transportation corridors."
Everest College - Santa Ana will offer nine diploma and degree programs and feature interactive classroom technology such as Wi-Fi, laptops and SMART boards. The diploma programs will include medical assisting, medical insurance billing and coding, massage therapy, medical administrative assistant and pharmacy technician. Associate degree programs will include criminal justice, paralegal, business and accounting.
