Family Turns to Facebook to Gather Prayers for Their Injured Son

A Facebook Group has been created as a platform for prayer and positive energy to help in the recovery of a 26 year old accident victim in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla., May 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Early on Saturday morning, May 21, 2011, Donald Michael Black "The Bean" was thrown from his moving vehicle when he lost control driving in Orlando, Florida. The accident caused serious brain trauma and "The Bean" has been in a coma since. His mother, father, step-father, brother and girlfriend have been at his bedside at Orlando Regional Medical Center as much as the hospital personnel allow and they are praying and waiting for him to awaken from his coma. The Doctors treated "The Bean" when the accident occurred and their expertise kept him alive and gave him the best chance for recovery.

Of course, they're not just waiting; the family has contact two of the top TBI Recovery Centers in the country for referrals into their programs. Shepherd Center of Atlanta and Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas are two of the pre-eminent rehabilitation facilities in the world, both specializing in helping patients awaken from their comas to begin rehab and relearning as soon as possible after the trauma.

The family has also turned to Facebook and is asking everyone they know to join them in Prayer for their Son's recovery. They are asking everyone who reads this news story to join "The Bean's Recovery Group" on Facebook at The Beans Recovery Group. They want to gather the world's largest prayer group and focus the power of prayer and positive thinking on "The Bean's" recovery. The group is a place to share your prayers, your own experience with traumatic brain injury and to keep up with "The Bean's" progress.

The power of prayer and the human spirit can overcome any and all adversity or pain, and the family believes that the greater the number of people devoting just moments of thought to "The Bean's" recovery, the greater chance he has of a full recovery. The family asks that you please say a prayer for their Son and join his group on Facebook to show your support. Miracles do happen and the family believes your prayers and thoughts can help them along.
