Eighth Annual Holiday Gingerbread Creation at Stein Eriksen
PARK CITY, Utah, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- This year Stein Eriksen Lodge, Park City's AAA Five Diamond, Forbes Five-Star property, is celebrating the holiday season with the creation and display of a nine feet long, four feet wide and five feet tall gingerbread Thomas the Train. The edible confection is the eighth such masterpiece of executive pastry chef Raymond Lammers, who oversees the design and construction of a different gingerbread structure for the Lodge each year.
The gingerbread creation is slated for completion by early December and will be displayed in the Main Lodge.
Featuring over 250 pounds of gingerbread and 80 pounds of icing, Thomas will have operating wheels and eyes and colored icing to match the original colors of Thomas the Train. Chef Lammers, a Dutch native, used 150 hours to build the sugary delight.
Lammers commented, "Each year I try to create a more intricate gingerbread house and this year was no exception. It is a fun tradition for the guests to see year after year, and the culinary team really enjoys the challenge. " In 2005, Lammers recreated the McPolin Barn, a Park City landmark.
Pictures of the gingerbread Thomas the Train will be available on December 7, 2009 for download at http://www.steinlodge.com/uploads/press. For information regarding the holiday season at Stein Eriksen Lodge, contact Christa Graff at 435.640.7921 or christa@graffpr.com, or visit www.steinlodge.com.
